Grand Prix: The Early Years
Toy cars have captured our imagination since time immemorial. Of the many cars models we have in our museum, no one event has spurned a greater collection than the Grand Prix itself. GRAND PRIX: THE EARLY YEARS explores 3 decades of racecar evolution: 1930s, 1950s and 1960s.
Glimpse into the past and understand what our collection says about the F1 during each era. Singnificant pieces include the Indianapolis 500 Racer, mirroring the race car driven by Troy Ruttman in his victorious 1952 Indianapolis race, as well as a Bluebird, based on 1920s legend Malcolm Campbell’s Campbell-Napier-Railton Blue Bird.
Through this unique collection of GP-inspired car models, rediscover the design evolution of the modern racecar, as we take a closer look at the models reimagined from the race cars that have dominated the famous tracks of each decade.
VR EXPERIENCE
As part of the exhibition, visitors will get to experience first-hand what it feels like to be a Formula One driver, as we bring you a virtual reality experience that will excite your senses. Through the headset simulation, you will get to feel the thrills of cruising down the tracks, while fully experiencing the near misses that has come to be part of routine for the top racers.
