POP-UP In The Museum features thematic guided tours & workshops, cinematic screenings, collaborative exhibitions, events and F&B experiences in the museum happening at curated periods of time along the year.
Pop-up concepts have a history that dates back many centuries to the earliest known travelling merchants and grew in popularity from the early 2000s and brands used temporary locations to build awareness and promote products that can appeal to customers.
POP-UP In The Museum at the MINT Museum of Toys carries an edge over regular pop-ups by bringing out the nostalgia and significance of pop-up culture and brands while still tapping into contemporary trends that draws in various communities in the museum industry, arts & culture sector or collecting world. The Museum Night Race
26 September 2026 | 7.30pm
One Race Night. Three Champions.
Experience the museum after dark as it transforms into a private night circuit. Surrounded by the Tin 2 Turbo exhibition, rare vintage racing memorabilia and premium slot cars, challenge fellow enthusiasts for the chance to race home with a premium slot car prize, fuelled by a curated Taco Supper.

Explore Chapter 1
Exhibition
Chapter 1: The Century-Long Journey of the Modern Woman (13 August – 11 October 2026) traces women’s experiences from the early 1900s to the 1990s through toys and popular culture. The journey begins with the historic Door of Hope dolls (1901), reflecting how social reform initiatives empowered vulnerable girls through education and craftsmanship, before moving into collectibles from Hollywood’s Golden Age & the Great Depression (1930s -1940s). The narrative continues with Hong Kong’s Michael Lee dolls (1950s – 1960s) representing the resilience of women during the post-1949 refugee influx and the city’s rise as a leading toy manufacturing hub, before concluding with Barbie (1990s) collector dolls celebrating the enduring influence of women in entertainment and popular culture.
Accompanying the dolls is a remarkable collection of designer and couture miniature perfume bottles, highlighted by a rare Prince Matchabelli bottle featuring its iconic crown-shaped design inspired by the Matchabelli family’s heraldic crest, alongside the exceptionally rare Max Factor Sophisti-CATS white perfume bottle, believed to be one of only three known examples worldwide. The exhibition also features first-series handbags namely a Chanel ‘Diana’ in lambskin leather & rare ‘milk tea’ colour and a Hermès ‘Kelly’ 20’ in black made in box leather.
Miniature Perfume Collection: This collection is drawn from the lifelong collection of Dr Marie Ang, who devoted 44 years to assembling one of the world’s most significant collections of miniature perfume bottles. In choosing to donate her entire collection to the MINT Museum of Toys, Dr Ang transformed a personal passion into a public legacy, enabling these extraordinary objects to tell stories of history, culture, design, and the evolving experiences of women across generations. The collection was recognised by the Singapore Book of Records, with a verified count of 3,393 miniature perfume bottles as of February 2023.
Vintage Luxury Handbag Collection: The vintage luxury handbags featured in this exhibition are presented from the private collection of My Grandfather’s Things (MGFT), a Singapore and Hong Kong–based specialist in rare vintage luxury handbags dedicated to preserving fashion heritage through exceptional collectible pieces. This exhibition marks MGFT’s fourth collaboration with the MINT Museum of Toys, having previously partnered on three editions of Pop-Up In The Museum, reflecting a shared commitment to celebrating design, craftsmanship, and collector’s passion through meaningful experiences.
The Scent Bar
From the resilience of the Door of Hope Mission and the glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age to post-war renewal, women’s economic empowerment, and modern confidence, each fragrance evokes the mood and spirit of its era. Together, these signature scents transform history into an immersive olfactory journey where memory, identity, and aspiration are experienced through fragrance.

Shirley Temple Mixology Bar
Named after beloved child star Shirley Temple, the Shirley Temple drink emerged in the 1930s and has become one of the world’s most iconic non-alcoholic mocktails. Although its exact origins remain disputed, the drink has long been associated with the golden age of Hollywood.
Available: 28 August – 11 October 2026 every Saturday between 3.00pm and 4.00pm. Limited to 10 redemptions a day, complimentary.

Exhibition
Chapter 2: Tin 2 Turbo (28 August – 11 October 2026) celebrates the exhilarating world of motorsport through rare racing toys, historic automobilia, and the inspiring stories of women who transformed the sport over more than a century.
From the earliest Grand Prix pioneers to today’s rising talents, the exhibition explores how determination, innovation, and resilience enabled generations of women to challenge convention, overcome prejudice, and leave an enduring legacy on the racetrack.
Bringing these stories to life is a remarkable collection of racing memorabilia inspired by some of motorsport’s most iconic competitions. Highlights include a rare 1906 French Grand Prix commemorative tin celebrating the world’s first official Grand Prix motor race, alongside a 1960s Vanwall Grand Prix Racing Car by ELM, inspired by the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Slot Car Racing
First gaining popularity during the 1950s and 1960s, slot car racing brought the thrill of legendary motorsport events into homes, hobby clubs, and dedicated raceways around the world, inspiring generations of enthusiasts to experience the speed, precision, and strategy of racing in miniature form.

Diecast Collectibles & Premium Slot Cars
Exploring a curated collection of premium slot cars inspired by legendary Formula One, sports cars, GT3, and classic Grand Prix racing machines. Highlights include the iconic Ferrari 312B2 #2, famously driven by Jacky Ickx to victory at the 1971 Dutch Grand Prix, faithfully recreated with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Visitors can also browse a specially curated retail selection of die-cast collectible vehicles, featuring everything from historic racing legends to modern performance cars offering enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to take home a miniature piece of motorsport history.

Racing Themed Experiences for the Whole Family
Sustainable Wood Racing Car Craft Workshop
Discover the fundamentals of automotive design through a hands-on workshop where participants assemble and personalise their own racing car model using sustainably sourced wood. Along the way, visitors are introduced to the basic principles of vehicle components, mechanics, and engineering, offering an engaging activity for families, enthusiasts, and aspiring young makers.

MINT Lumens Presents: Le Mans (1971)
Experience Steve McQueen’s legendary racing film Le Mans (1971) through MINT Lumens, the museum’s signature unconventional cinema programme. Screened amongst rare vintage racing collectibles in the lead-up to the Singapore Grand Prix season, this exclusive one-night event offers a cinematic experience that brings together film, motorsport history, and museum storytelling in a truly distinctive setting.
