Exhibition
The People’s Tokusatsu is an exhibition exploring how craftsmanship and creativity build the worlds that come alive behind the screen. Blurring the line between historical preservation and fan dedication, it traces the evolution of practical effects and storytelling across decades of Japanese cinema and television — culminating in a collaborative space that elevates fan creations to museum status.
The heart of the tokusatsu genre has always been driven by the imagination and dedication of its audience. For our upcoming exhibition, The People’s Tokusatsu, the MINT Museum of Toys is turning our shelves into a collaborative space by inviting fans, collectors, and creators to become part of the display. We are calling on you to submit your tokusatsu-themed toys, whether they are classic Henshin devices, Sofubis, or entirely custom creations. Selected submissions will be proudly showcased in our dedicated “Open Call” collection, standing directly alongside historical museum artifacts.
