PRESENTS

Seasonally themed exhibitions where we unbox unique, unexpected
and inspirational collections or creations for public display!

UNBOX champions the heart and soul of private toy collectors, international licensed brands as well as not-for-profit organisations, serving as a creative ground for collectors, curators and artists to explore alternative exhibition narratives through the museum’s versatile spaces. It is also through UNBOX exhibitions where the museum showcases some of its own rarest, never-before-seen collections that are carefully curated brought upon by trends, impactful societal messages and conversation starters.

As a museum which caters programmes for all ages including learning journeys for children as young as 18 months old, we take pride in cultivating key values and ethics to live by, that will impact decision making and determine children’s choices they make from home, in school and to the outside world.

One of the most important values to cultivate from a young age would be the concept and importance of kindness and more importantly, the exhibition aims to inspire visitors to think about ways they can spread kindness in their lives and communities.

This season, the MINT Museum of Toys unbox-ed 600 DIY Singa Figurines for its first virtual exhibition titled UNBOX Presents: Imaginative Colouring.

All the figurines are individually coloured and designed by children and youths aged between 4 – 17  during a DIY Singa Colouring Contest that took place between 11 March to 31 May 2023.

Accompanying each DIY Singa Figurine are also handwritten notes left by the participants of the contest, composed of heartfelt messages expressing personal acts of kindness and appreciation they have each received or given in their lives.

There will be an exhibition featuring the Best DIY Singa Figurine and runner-ups between 14 – 28 March 2024 at the museum.
